There is a January 2009 K1 thread but it's people who filed at Vermont, not CSC.

Thanks for the well wishes, guys.

My dad would be willing to pay for Adjustment of Status, but I just realised that another affidavit of support is required and of course we can't even use Alex's father as a co-sponsor right now! I guess I am screwed? I'm a little too panicked to think straight.

That is some bad news Rachel, I am sorry to heart about it :(

If you don't have a co-sponsor right now, you better wait with filing the application i think, an affidavit of support is really needed.. maybe there is anyone else in the family who can sign that paper?

Rachel!!! I am so sorry to hear about Alex's lay off and his fathers as well OMG! Do you guys have back up sponsers and such to use then? And hey we will be right there with ya on the tough year for 2009 as we are filing for bankruptcy in a few months here....we will have to make a payment but still pays off our debts in like 4 years as opposed to be paying on them the rest of our lives haha! Can we say credit cards are evil? Ooooffff I have learned my lesson for sure! So yeah maybe we should start a support group for VJ'ers who are BROKE haha....

Some good news though is we added a new little guy to our family this past week...we got a 7 week old male boxer pup! He is just a doll!!! Figure it is the best time since Gareth is there all day to work on training with him :) It is also helping us put our baby bug to rest for another year or two haha...

Gabby has taken just fine to Gareth and he does so well with her as if she was his own daughter for sure. They read together and he walks her to school and back etc...but he also lays down the law with her which she needed (I am a pushover!).

We just sent off our AOS packet to Chicago today so we shall see how long this now takes for us haha...I really don't care how long it takes as long as it goes over well in the end. We are in no hurry really for Gareth to work since A) he doesn't drive so that would make it hard anyway and B)he is home for Bruno and then Gabby as well so no need for daycare!

We would however love to find him some sort of work from home job but no idea how he could find something legit etc...

Sad to see no posts from Blake yet huh? Anyone have any private contact with him outside of VJ?

Pam congrats on the job (forget if I have congratulated you yet) that is just fab!

I have Blake's private email address (he sent me some stuff for marriage vows once). Do you think I should send him an email? I have been thinking about it a lot recently, but at the same time, if he doesn't come on VJ anymore maybe he doesn't want us to contact him either. I don't know what to do! I really hope he is OK!

On another note, my parents have a boxer too, he's almost 10 years old now (near the end of his life). Those dogs stay playful their entire life!

Yeah, Cécile, I wish you could e-mail him from all of us!!

I think of him sometimes too, and hope he is all right... :(

I went to DMV yesterday and passed my writting test!! I couldn't pass my driving test yet, so I had it scheduled on next tuesday!

I hope I will be all right! It should be all right if it is not snowing this day!! :P

This week-end is my first wedding on the job since I am a married woman!! :D

I assisted many weddings so far, but this one will be funny in a sense as I will understand more the emotion and stress of the bride before her wedding!

Sunny, congratulations on your puppy!! I wished many many times to have a kitten, but it is not allowed where I live! :crying:

Hi guys,

There is some good news - Alex's mother makes enough to cover 125% of the poverty line for a family of four, so we can use her as a co-sponsor. :) Still have to find the $1010, though, but we'll see. If we COULD file this month that'd be great - plus then I can join Sunny and dbears in the January filers thread again!

Isn't it funny to see how much has happened to us in a year? I really like knowing that I have a great group of supportive people who all emigrated and married in the same year as me. :)

I am still concerned about having to move back in with Alex's parents, but if we have to, we have to. At least they have a spare room, and we could probably pool our finances and help each other out.

Sunny - hurrah for the boxer pup! :D I love animals. Sadly I'm allergic to cats, but hey, maybe I'll find a hypoallergenic one. ;)

Good luck with your driving test, Pam! Glad to hear your job is going well. :)

wow thats good news indeed Rachel.. good to hear you guys can use Alex's mom as cosponsor :D

I'm sure you will get a hold of that 1010 dollar also ;)

edit: about Blake, I guess I am just like you guys, I am really curious/wondering how things are with him. I really hope he will reply to you, Cecile, even just a small note to say how it is with him and Olga would already be something :)

Rachel, good to hear you have a worst-case scenario plan in case you and Alex should need it. I hope all goes well with the last minute changes in sponsorship, and of course the job search. Greivin and I are both looking and I know it can feel so overwhelming. Best of luck to you and the family.

Sunny, congrats on the pup! That should be a lovely distraction as well as provide Gareth and nice "project" to help him feel like he's contributing. I know that has been an occasional frustration for Greivin here in our house.

As far as Blake goes, I looked at his profile and it appears he hasn't even logged in for several weeks. I'm guessing the best thing we can do at this point, is send all our happy thoughts his way, in case he needs some encouragement.
