Hey Ganja! No one is answering you, and so I'm here now :)

John 14:14 is a parallel to Matt 7:8-11 which goes into more detail:

Mt 7:8 For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 7:9 Or what man of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 7:10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 7:11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

They key is not that you can ask for a million dollars or your boss to die or your leg to grow back. it is that you ask for something within His will. if you are to ask something in His name, then you must be alligned with His will in order to be asking with such a representation of Him as His name. If you are not, then you are not going to get what you want. G-d isn't a magician to preform tricks at your beck and call... so He doesn't tend to go against nature. Can He? Well, yes. You have Sarah giving birth at an old age, Rachel having her infertility cured, Yeshua healing the blind man (with spit and mud, which goes back to Genesis creation and alludes to those verses which is why it is done that way), the woman with chronic bleeding healed when she touches His robe, the dead raised after 3 days (3 days being the customary waiting period of a spirit around teh body according to contemporary belief), the man with the "withered" hand being cured of that... those are recorded miracles. You cannot say with absolute scientific certainty that they occured, and you also cannot say with scientific certainty that they did not-- nor that a limb has not been regenerated in teh whole of human history. Of course, IMO, science and religion have no bearing on each other-- you cannot use religion to prove science nor science to prove anything in religion as one is faith adn the other is observable testing and support or lack of support for hypotheses. I hope this helps.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.
