Fortunately, telemarketers have not picked up on our cell numbers yet. Probably, because we rarely hand them out on any text line (websites) or in stores. I always supply a bogus phone number when ordering online. The items always arrive on time.

Some stores claim to "identify you" with your phone number...I am thinking that my name might work, not a phone number.

As an aside, who has converted to cell only and dropped the landline?

Some places do use callerid to identify your account.

I haven't had a landline in years.

but ordering online isn't going to give them the chance to figure that out.

We have registered our cell numbers and our landline with the Do Not Call Registry. We still do get some solicitation calls. If a person is on the line i tell them this is a No Call number and to remove it from their list. They apologize - and must remove it because we don't get called back. If it is a recorded message or a number that isn't identified, I use this website: http://whocalled.us/ It is really useful to find out if it is a telemarketer or a legitmate call. If it is a telemarketer, I then go to the Do Not Call Registry number and report them.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Cause now I'm on a mission to catch them in the act, and make them get the $12K fee! and eventually to make them stop calling altogether, and make the world a better place :star:

Thank you for your contribution to making the world a better place. (F)

If, however, you are Undead you have the last laugh as you get to eat the telemarketer's brains.

Do the Undead laugh?

In World of Warcraft they do
