Hey guys--as some of u already know I finally received the IV Fee bill on Saturday April 22nd :D

I mailed off the money order on Monday and they received it on Tuesday. From your experience how long did they take to "cash" YOUR money order for the $380? Just curious.

Thanks

I don't know exactly when they cashed our cheque but let me see...

Sent off IV fee on March 22 by snail mail (regular Canada Post).

They must have gotten the money order on March 30.

I got my DS230 on April 13 but the envelope was postmarked April 10.

So they may have "cashed" the $ 380 sometime between March 31 and April 7.

So I guess the short answer would be... within a week of them receiving the money order. For us, at least.

I hope that helps.

Oh OK. Thank you for responding. :D The reason why I asked is because when I sent the Affidavit fee it took them only(2) days to cash it; so I was wondering if I would be that lucky again or if they treat the IV Fee differently ( I don't see why because it's more $$$ ) but what do I know. :( Thanks for your reponse though "Cygnet"

They probably cash it right away but when I called NVC to check on whether they received the cheque or not, they told me it sometimes takes 10 days for it to be put in the system.

I guess, they didn't want me calling them everyday to check on the status of my case.

BTW, you're welcome.

I have the same concern.

I realize that it is different in every case but still....

In our case they received OAS BIll 2 weeks ago and they still have not cashed it :(( Operator proved that they got it and it would take some time to cash it....

They should have receive IV Bill yesterday. (we sent it by overnight mail)

I even can't assume when they would cash them and generate DS 230 and AOS package ....

why does it take so long :(

Alenushka,

I have no idea why they take so long. Money orders are like cash and they can be "cashed" on the same exact date of receipt!!

They received my $380 on Tuesday and the operator said it could take 10-15 BUSINESS days for them to process it. But when I paid the $70 of the AOS it took them only 2 days!!!!! I guess it depends on our luck.

I then received a "checklist" in the mail today that they are missing the DS-230 and the IV Fee Bill; duuuhhh!! I'm soooo tempted to send in the DS-230 so they get it by Monday---but I don't want to cause any delays because it hasn't been "generated" as yet.

Whatever--I'lll just hope that they'll cash yours real sooon so the rest of the process can go on.

Keep me posted :D and let us try not to worry about it. I'm going to resume my work-out routine to relieve this stress.

NVC usually, cashes the check within a week.

Remember, NVC generates all the forms on either Monday or Tuesday only.

Also, for your DS230, you can send it over to NVC with the 864 checklist. You don't need to wait for the generation of DS230.

Good Luck,

YamSam
