Hi all,

I am finally in US!!! I arrived here on 14th. The journey details is as follows:

At Hyderabad Airport I was asked to fill Immigration/Customs form. Then the Immigration/Customs guys verified my ticket, my passport and my VISA. The guy who did it wasn't aware of K1 visa. So he cosulted the officer in charge there. Then I was through.

The POE Chicago was also smooth. I already filled the I-94 and Customs form in flight itself. Then I submitted I-94 to the Immigration guy at Chicago. I was asked only one question "Why am I here in US?" to which I replied that I am on K1. Then he opened the documents did some checking. Then took my finger prints and said "thanks. You are done".

Then I collected by baggage and then went for Customs check where I handed over the Customs form. Then straight to my connecting flight to Salt Lake!!!

Overall it was smooth experience.

07-27-2007- Sent out I-129f

08-07-2007 : Received NOA1

12-23-2007 : NOA2 approved

12-27-2007 : NVC Received

01-10-2008 : Case forwarded to New Delhi Embassy by NVC.

01-14-2008 : New Delhi Embassy received our file from NVC.

01-24-2008 : Submitted Packet 3 at New Delhi Embassy.

02-06-2008 : Submitted docs at VFS.

02-21-2008 : Interview- visa was approved pending security.

02-25-2008 : Called NVC and they said Visa is approved. VFS- they didnt get it yet.

02-27-2008: Visa in HAND!!!!

03-08-2007: Arrived at POE(JFK)

May 12-2008- Got the Marriage License

May 19-2008- Married!!!

AOS

06-06-2008 Mailed out AOS

06-08-2008 Delivered to Lockbox

06-16-2008 NOA for EAD, AP, AOS(dated June 12)

06-28-2008 Biometrics done!

I think their case got sent to Washington for AP, but they have kept her passport (thats good news). Wishing the best for jeta&preeti (F)

what is VFS?

VFS stands for Visa Facilitation Services. It is also known as VFS Global when the office is based outside India. This organization initially started as a courier intermediary between visa applicants and the Embassy of the United States, Chennai, India when the embassy was not able to handle the crowds outside the embassy. This service now grown internationally and has a near monopoly in many countries like India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Russia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Ukraine, South Africa for people applying for travel permission to countries like USA, UK, and Australia and providing visas for the B1/B2, L1/L2, H1/H2/H3 and other categories (explanation below) is their main occupation. They are the communication point between the embassy and the traveling citizens.

Today, VFS Global is a niche player in the visa outsourcing spectrum. As a specialist business process outsource agency, VFS Global focuses on serving visa sections of diplomatic missions by providing administrative support and managing non-judgmental tasks related to the entire lifecycle of a visa application process, thereby enabling the missions to focus on the key tasks of assessment and decision making.

WOW!!! It is such a wonderful feeling to be married to the person you have waited soooooo long to be with. What makes it even better is knowing that all my friends on VJ share my happiness and that we all have finally made it. All of us have moved into this phase in life and we have done it together with each other's help :):):)

Feb 1,2007 - I-130 Reached USCIS.

Feb 4,2007 - I-130 accepted > Get USCIS case Number NOA1.

May 8 ,2007- GET NVC Case Number > NOA2.

June 16 ,2007- Get Order from NVC to pay 70$.

July 2 ,2007- Get DS-3032 in India.

July 7,2007 - DS-3032 choice of address agent entered in NVC.

July 14 ,2007- Get I-864.

July 18 ,2007- I-864 Enters NVC.

July 29 ,2007- Get Order to Pay 380$ fee.

Aug 3 ,2007- 380$ Fee Reached St Louis.

Aug 25,2007 - NVC & St Louis People receive photocopy of my payment with USPS receipt.

After WAITING for 37 days.

Sept 10,2007 - 380$ fee encashed.

Sept 24,2007 - Receive DS-230 in Mail.

Sept 25,2007 - DS-230 despatched.

Sept 26,2007- DS-230 Delivered.

Oct 1,2007 - NVC has DS-230.

Oct 12, 2007 - DS-230 Reviewed. Case Complete

Oct 16, 2007 - Case at Embassy.

Oct 25, 2007- Interview Letter Despatched from Embassy.

Nov 3, 2007 - Recieved Interview Letter.

Dec 1, 2007 - Medical Exam .

I GOT IT

Jan 16 - I am in USA

April 15 2008 - Get my Drivers License.

I-751 Lifting Conditions at California Service Center

November 12, 2009 - I-751 Sent via USPS Express Mail

November 13, 2009 - Receipt of I-1751 Fee

November 20, 2009 - Arrested on Domestic Battery(Had argument with wife)

December 18, 2009 - Biometrics Completed at 9 am.

January 13, 2010 - Receive I-797E Notice for more evidence

February 16, 2010 - Mail reaches Californa Service Center( Next day of Preseidents Day)

February 19, 2010 - Card Production Ordered. Status now IR1
