A few November filers (VSC) have been approved and now I am starting to get excited and anxious about what I should be doing to get ready for the next step. Is there anything me or my fiance can do while we wait for our NOA2?

Prepare your affidavit of support, and get an evidence together that you will need for the interview.

And also your police clearance. Sometimes you may have to wait for 1 - 2 months for it to be issued and of course it depends on the country you're applying from.

Oh yes, if the beneficiary's birth certificate is not in English, then do arrange for translation from an official translator.

Good luck!

Some suggestions:

1) Get your evidence in order for the interview and have your fiance(e) get their information together for the I-134.

2) Once you have all that in order, you can read up on the Adjustment of Status (AOS) process, since it's right around the corner. Have your fiance(e) order their tax transcripts from the IRS if they don't already have them.

3) Figure out when you'll be legally married and when you hope to get AOS papers out the door.

4) Declutter your life and figure out what you'll take to America and what you'll ship/toss/give away/put in storage.

5) Enjoy your last few months in your homeland! See lots of people! Eat lots of your favorite foods!

Have you been to the Ankara Consulate website??? Let me warn you - they are horrible at following procedure! We never got an interview letter. I had emailed the consulate and asked them if they could take into consideration that my father was dying and we would like to all be together for his last Christmas. I was asking only for an interview BEFORE Xmas. They responded and said- CONSIDER THIS YOUR NOTICE- January 8, 10 am appt. That was it- they never sent him anything. WHEN THEY ASK if he wants his interview in English or Turkish - TELL THEM ENGLISH- you are going to get it in English anyway. My husband said Turkish and boy was he sorry. Hope you don't get a Chinese American woman- She is a total B*TCH! We are still waiting for his visa they say another 4 to 6 months! Anyway, this woman is MEAN- She asked Zeki why he doesn't have a Turkish girlfriend and WHY did he HAVE to have an American.... Insinuated that his mother hated me and that he hated his country. Its really crazy. He said he could not wait to get back to Istanbul. He just wanted to cry. WE are going thru security clearances now.

We applied in early June- 2007 It may be a full year before he steps on US soil. I'm leaving for Turkey in a few days- ( every 3 months! )

I wish you the best of luck.
