I have to say, the notion that AW is useless cos she's a junkie is irrelevant to her music.....look at the past pioneers of music all throughout time and you will see substance abuse a plenty.

This is not something new.

i completly agree with that. But when you arnt bringing any substance to the writting, thats assuming shes even attending the writting sessions, you just become another crackie..

I don't have a feminist cause other than equal rights. MEN on VJ have made my choice of candidate a feminist issue, not me.

When one types in a forum/blog/Word doc/life, common sense dictates spelling & punctuation be correct.

i think the best part of this is how serious you are.

and although i just started posting, i have been here reading. Being a female, with strong EQUALIST beliefs, i find your feminazi posting very exausting

and i came to that conclusion all on my own, no VJ Male help.

This is not something new.

Her being a junkie is QUITE relevant to the marketing of her in America. They didn't start to market her here until she became tabloid fodder. Now she's suddenly important in the industry. So her being a junkie did indeed help her win Grammies.

Or could it be coincidence? Meh, I dunno, really. Either or....but the 'best' music isn't always the Grammy winner....so I always take award shows with a grain of salt. Maybe it is PR, maybe it's not...I don't claim to know the inner workings of the marketing/music industry I don't really care about who's doing what with whom or the whole Enquirer mindset, so who knows?

At the end of the day, people will like what they like and dislike what they dislike....but calling her sub abuse into questioning her vocal ability is kinda pointless...

I'm not too terribly familiar with her songs, actually....I happen to think she's got a helluva voice from the little I have heard, so I really can't say about the writing and whatnot. I am reminded of the lyric 'there's only music so that there's new ringtones.'

ETA: that lyric is from the Arctic Monkeys, not AW....I quoted it cos I felt there was relevance, heh
