Aw, peejay...you're making me nostalgic for my brief stints in the Southwest, where the only thing to keep us entertained was watching meteor showers.

Here in the Northeast, you can never get away from manmade lights.

I haven't taken in the Southwest tour in a while, but I'm sure a lot of it is still remote. Here are some of my 20+ year old shots from Utah. Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, and west Texas have a lot of remote scenic areas that are worth seeing too. Entertainment is in the eye of the beholder. Roughing it out in the boonies isn't for everyone. It certainly isn't in my wife's game plan. I'm glad I saw and did a lot of this stuff in my younger days when I had the chance to do it.

That be me when I was in my late 20's.

Dirt trail in the boonies. My old Ford pickup finally made it down there.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

We were watching Who Killed the Electric Car the other day and in it they showed an inventor couple who had come up with solar panel shingles. What a great idea...

Oh yes. I've heard about them. The shingle on your house can be solar recepters without having huge panels. There's plenty of room for innovative ideas to make solar energy homes the standard. :)
