flights booked. 12th march.

Glasgow - Dublin

Dublin - Chicago

Chicago - Omaha

return flight (return date 26th march which obviously not being used) booked through American Airlines for only (are you ready for this) £425. I nearly fell off my chair when I saw that, it's the cheapest flights I've ever had!!!!!!!!!! Means I can top up my American Airmiles too. Should have enough for a free trip after this one.

01/11/2008 - medical (allergic to tetanus shot, requirement waived)

02/05/2008 - interview @ 10am - APPROVED!!!!!!

03/12/2008 - Flying Glasgow - Dublin - Chicago - Omaha

05/31/2008 - WEDDING

AOS

07/31/2008 - AOS and EAD finally mailed

08/02/2008 - Delivered

08/08/2008 - Check cleared

08/11/2008 - NOA1's for AOS and EAD recieved (reciept date 08/07/2008)

08/16/2008 - Biometrics letter recieved

09/09/2008 - Biometrics at 1pm, Omaha

09/26/2008 - AOS transferred to CSC

09/29/2008 - AOS touched (took out envelope at CSC and put in new pile)

10/03/2008 - AOS touched (probably that RFE coming soon!!!!)

10/06/2008 - AOS touched AGAIN!!! (surely it's an RFE)

10/15/2008 - EAD CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!!!!YEY!!!

10/27/2008 - EAD IN HAND

besides walking out the embassy knowing I was approved...the free pancake was the next best thing!

Funny thing is the interview is the easiest part for most. Tell someone that before they have experienced it and they think you're crazy, but afterwards most will agree. ;)

Congratulations- it's great news!! I'm glad it was short and sweet- and that she had some tissues for you.

I'd better go find a box for myself- I might need them on Monday!!

1986-03-10 : We met in London

1986-06-30 : Got engaged! He left London to return to NY

1987-09-01 : Lived together in London while he was on student programme

1987-12-30 : Moved to Spain together

1988-06-30 : I returned to London, he returned to NY. Long distance engagement follows!

1991-05-20 : Got married in VA, US on a long weekend away!

1991-05-24 : Returned together to London to set up home here, with him on a tourist visa. Applied for residency.

1992-08-07 : He's granted indefinite right to live and work in UK.

1993-10 : Son born

1995-01 : Daughter follows.

2007-09-15 : I-130 Sent. Here begins our journey!

2007-09-18 : I-130 NOA1 recieved.

2007-11-12 : Applied to local Hampshire Constabulary for Police Certificate

2007-11-19 : Had vaccinations done by own GP- pertussis, tetanus, diptheria, mumps, rubella, measles, flu.

2007-12-17 : I-130 NOA 2 received- hooray!!

2007-12-22 : Police Certificate AND Packet 3 arrive- together!! This is quick!

2008-01-10 : Returned Packet 3 to Embassy

2008-01-29 : Packet 4 arrived

2008-02-06 : Medical at 10.30am

2008-02-11 : EMBASSY INTERVIEW!!

I'm getting jealous now! We filed in June and we're still waiting. However, we put off the medical a bit since my OH was over here the first part of January, so that is likely why it is taking forever and a day.

At this point the overwhelming relief that came over me lead to a few tears, the interviewer passed me some tissues

I: I'm used to that reaction but stop that, people will think I'm mean *smiling*

Me:thank-you so much

and I walked away, grinning ear to ear.

Goodness, you got me crying with relief and happiness here too! Congratulations and thanks for posting your experience *hugs*

Congratulations Debz !!!!!! :dance::dance:

I booked a return flight from Manchester to Chicago, it was about half the price of a single. I won't be using the return part though :no:

When I had finished my interview and was catching my train back to Berkshire where I was staying, the train was delayed due to someone deciding life wasn't worth it and had thrown themselves in front of a train. So sad!!!! but I'm glad that it didn't happen on the way into London, I would have really panicked then!!

Goodness...is this a common occurence in england..ppl throwing themselves in front of the train? So what happened to the guy? I take it he didn't make it.
