Hi there,

My fiance is filling up the I-134 form and we have a question what date to fill-up on item number 10 under column Date Submitted. He is preparing it as one of the required documents for my interview this coming March 12, 2008. Info on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The exact date isn't critical but if you have it, use the receipt date shown on the first notice of action indicating USCIS received the I-129F petition. This is really a place to list additional prior submission though, so under the name, I would put "This beneficiary/applicant only". That's what I did but in our case, I had submitted prior I-130 petitions for wife and daughter. For a fiance only, perhaps "none" is an appropriate answer.

Dan,

What do you think of a K1 with no prior petitions simply answering, "none"? The beneficiary's name is in section 3.

I don't think listing "none" would be appropriate. The exact instruction says

"I have submitted a visa petion(s) to [uSCIS] on behalf of the following person(s). If none, state none."

Clearly "I" have submitted a visa petition, even if this is the only petition I've filed. The "If none, state none" part is confusing, since I can't imagine submitting this form without having submitted a petition, but perhaps it just needs to have this particular piece of governmentese, or maybe there are other non-petition uses for the form.

As a point of reference (acknowledging that VJ isn't authoritative), the VJ example form shows listing the current petition.

Yeah, that's clear enough. The "none" apparently applies when you are the co-sponsor or the visa category didn't require a petition.
