Make the check or money order payable to U.S.Department of Homeland Security

NOTE: The 9/30/08 date has to do with survey data collection for Office of Management and Budget, it has to do with the paper-work reduction act, and has nothing to do with the validity of the form. And yes this the correct version of the form.

Paperwork Reduction Act

An agency may not conduct or sponsor an information collection and a person is not required to respond to acollection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number. The public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated at 3 hours and 20 minutes per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, completing and submitting the form.

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-751instr.pdf

It is internal to the government and is how they come up with the 3 hours 20 minutes quoted on page 4 of it's directions.

Just make sure you use the one from the USCIS site

Yes, I would use one from USCIS website.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

I downloaded the one from the USCIS site but also downloaded the example from here on VJ to use as a guide but like the bozo I am I, not thinking, started filling in the VJ form and it was old so we received the entire packet back. Duh
