hi, i have a question about the AOS, in the G-325A they ask about the spouse name .'' Family name (for wife give maiden name) '' and in the form I-485 they ask about Family name.

my wife still has her ex husband name .i know the maiden name is the one the woman has before marriage means her father name.ok if i put her maiden name in the G-325A ,what i will write in the form of I-485 under family name, do i have to write her maiden name or the name she has now (from her ex husband) ? thank you

Treat each form separately. The G325a asks for the applicant's name. Later, it asks for the name of the applicant's spouse and says if wife, give maiden name.

So, for instance if you are the immigrant, in the space requiring your wife's maiden name, you write her maiden name. On the I-485 you write her current legal name. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the question. You don't say who is who.

oh sorry ,i am the immigrant.i understand what u meant ,in the G-325A i will write her maiden name (birth name) and in the I-485 in the Family name ,i will write the family name she has now ( her ex husband family name).thank you alot
