Several members of VisaJourney including myself participated in the teleconference this afternoon. I invite anyone that participated to post your thoughts. I will do the same.

Others will be glad to know that there were questions and comments about several topics of interest on VJ.

The ones I can currently recall are.

- USCIS Cancellation of K-3 I-29F petitions

- Petition processing times and clarification of dates used by USCIS to determine processing order

- Receipting delays and failure to send notices

- Online case status system updates

- Updates of online processing time listings

Unfortunately, we didn't get any real answers. They simply promised to ask USCIS about our concerns and post the results on their website at http://www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman. I got the impression that USCIS isn't very good about answering their questions or providing information.

There were plenty of non-members as well and the general consensus seems to be that the process is a complete mess and that there is zero transparency or accountability on the part of USCIS.

My observations

- They said they would check with USCIS for most of the questions

- Some confusion around whether the I-129F is canceled or not.

- The date for updating the website is earlier than the actual date posted. Said they would check on it

- They liked a lot the suggestions (Why is I-129F different from a H4) etc..

- Embassy interview dates are an issue with the state, not USCIS

and lastly..

- Some person on the background washing dishes? moving bottles? doing something really noisy.

Yeah. I wanted to kill the guy. It sounded like he had the speaker phone on in a restaurant kitchen.

I lost a few of the discussed issues in my original post. I was editing and VJ locked me out after a few minutes.

I just got back from vacation and am slammed at work, so I'll post some more notes later.

definitely something better than nothing. not sure if there were any USCIS or maybe it was the USCIS washing the dishes and throwing the bottles/storing the bottles.

anyways one point i noticed, it might have sufficed for us to just send her emails with the issues cause didn't seem like she had any answers or solutions or clarifications. Going by comments from last conferences and their transcripts still open questions to USCIS with no answers ever being posted.

but neverthless atleast the forum was available vs. daily black hole of the misinformation line.

Yesterday I was on the call also. As I was asking I do not see a difference between a H4 and K3? H4 is a non-immigrant dependent visa and K3 is also a non-immigrant dependent visa until they come and apply for AOS. If a H4 is not a security risk and they can accompany the spouse to USA how come the K3 cannot?

How is this different? The administration says they are pro-family/pro-life. There words do not match their actions. The only reason I can see that I am getting screwed is I am a US Citizen !!!!!

And we are all individuals with no lobbyists working for us...... and no big company's behind us.

I am planning to send letters to the President, Vice President and to the heads of the congress just to vent my frustration and their discrimination against us. Hopefully they will have sometime to look at my letter and realize that they need to match their words with actions.

As you mention, it is insane and extremely unjust that the H-4 visas are handled so quickly. If you recall, one guy stated that an H visa holder from Pakistan was married in November and already has his wife here. Someone should be fired for this kind of BS and the politicians responsible should be voted out of office.
