Hello VJ Folks,

Well, its been a LONG journey---I met my (now) wife in Ukraine in 1998 and after knowing each other for years we decided to marry.

Finally got her here in December of 2006 and filed AOS paperwork in July just before the new fees came in.

Got what seemed an ominous Request for INITIAL Information---very confusing and murky wording as to what they were asking for----something to do with my income as I'm self-employed----sent off a bunch of stuff about two months later----- about 6 weeks ago I got a notice that they'd forwarded our paperwork to California ( we live in SC) and just yesterday two envelopes arrived---one saying we were approved and to look for the GC in about 3 weeks and the other with the greencard inside!

We were never asked to come for an interview (what gives?) (I'm not complaining!). I also did not file my fiancee's medical stuff with the AOS package as I'd misread the instructions as saying that was optional. My wife didn't get any medical papers or froms when she entered the US (just one envelope with an X-ray) so I'd been freting about this next hurdle---physical exams---official surgeons and all that rot-----I guess its unlikely they'll ask about any of that now or for an interview??

Well, I'd never have gotten this far without VJ and much generous encouragement and help from the community here. Thanks to all who helped. Best of Luck to all who are still waitng----the day finally DOES come.

John in SC

Congrats!!  You're lucky because you got approved with no interview! (Many people who are transferred to CSC get approved with no interview.) And yes you are right, no need to get any additional paperwork (like medical stuff) done now. Just be happy and relax, no more USCIS for 2 years! :D
