I understand that it takes 40 days to recieve these, and I have only just filed my I129F. In fact I dont even have my NOA1 yet - but I wondered if once I have the NOA1 and I wait 2 months, if I can send for my police records, or do I have to wait for the Embassy to request the,?

I ask because I was told yesterday that if the police check is dated before the date of the packet 3 info, I will be asked to reapply??

I'm getting conflicting information and I want to shorten the process as much as I can.

When you get a chance :time:

If you fill in your time line VJ will give you an estimated adjudication date.

The UK police certificate is valid for 12 months.

My fiance's UK police report took 38 days to arrive.

We did not wait for packet 3 to arrive before we submitted for the police certificate.

No, you do not have to wait for packet 3. Conflicting information, the rules can vary from Embassy to Embassy? "Pre-packet 3" police certificates seem to be perfectly acceptable at the London embassy....I have not heard of any problems at recent interviews....and I am sure there would be a HUGE outcry if the rules had changed.

Your NOA1 could take from a week to 90 days to arrive. Timing can really vary, but probably 3 or 4 months from the date you submitted your petition would be a good time to send for the certificate.

Congratulations and good luck with your journey.
