We bought our tickets before the interview.

We allowed for 12 days for after the interview.

We planned to fly back together

We had to rebook the flights.

We paid rebooking fees and price difference.

I ran out of vacation and had to fly home.

The visa was finally delivered 19 days after the interview.

We had to pay rebooking again.

Ouch... :crying:

That's not the type of gamble I would take.. 2 re-schedules...

In my case, my hubby (fiance then) bought my ticket 2 months prior to my interview (out of excitement ). My interview was Aug. 07 '07 and the purchased ticket was for Oct. 07 flight. He gave it 2 months protraction in case I have had problem with my interview. But thank Heaven that I passed, so he made changes again with my ticket and moved my flight on Sept. 12. We paid 100 dollar more for re-scheduling but it was all worth it. :)

Have a happy trip for those who will have their flights soon! Good luck on your POEs!

You were never a mistake. You were my realization.

My fiance will pick us up (me and my daughter) so he will buy a ticket within this week to get the current rate. I will have my interview on March 11 and we plan to fly on March 31. 20 days after the interview so there is ample time for the 2-week delivery time just in case...then I am praying, praying, praying and praying that we get the visa even sooner than the 2 weeks time. God hears when you pray with faith.

I bought the ticket 2 weeks before the interview. I purchased it in Manila and the carrier is EvaAir, which stops in Taipei. EvaAir Does Not charge for flight changes but the travel agency does, and only after March 15, which is one and a half month after purchasing the ticket. Had I bought the ticket online, through their website, I wouldnt have any penalty for changing my flight date and can even get a FULL refund. I already changed my flight date from Feb 23 to Mar 7. Im hoping I wont have to change it again, as US Embassy says my visa is in printing as of last Friday, Feb 29. Hope I get my visa by Tuesday or else back to rescheduling..

I will be attending Joy's interview, so I bought a round trip ticket for me. About 2 weeks ago, I purchased a one-way ticket for Joy on the same flight as my return so we can travel back to the US together a week after the interview.

Yes, I am gambling that the embassy will approve the visa and allow us to pick it up in time for Joy to make the scheduled flight. It is, however, a calculated risk. If I wait until we have Joy's visa in hand, I may not be able to get her on the same flight as me, or the price may be prohibitive. So, we are rolling the dice. <img src="http://www.visajourney.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Marc

hello marc:

we are planning to do exactly what you did in how you booked your flights together, what i noticed is that you picked up the visa at the embassy, however i have heard from others you cant do this. how did you make it happen?

i want to fly in the day before my wifes interview then fly out with her a week later, and gamble on her passing the interview but we are confident.

please let me know.

mike

God Thank you for the love we've found
