Ira's just popped up on the website today for March 17th. We're planning on a May 5 arrival in the states (she's got some family stuff to take care of in April), so the delay will give us plenty of time to deal with any unexpected problems as well.
Usually the unexpected problems occur after arrival, if you know what I mean.

Ensure your beneficiary makes and brings with them to the States a copy of the DS-3025 (vaccination form)

So the almost going berserk on the embassy via $12 phone calls and multiple emails really does work!

Congrats on finding out and finally being able to make some plans. Good luck, and don't forget to get a copy of the DS-3025. I'll be watching for the "his interview's been over for like 20 minutes and still no word on if the visa was approved yet" thread.

Just kidding! Good luck and keep us posted or ask away with the next set of questions.

Speaking of that form... Natalia forgot to ask for a copy when she was there and when she later asked for it they told her "we can't do that".

I guess now it is securely tucked inside the sealed envelope.

Perhaps when she arrives in Atlanta she can ask them to copy it there?

I know she has her vaccination documents, just don't know if they are translated.

When we arrived at Atlanta, we were able to retrieve our original marriage certificate from the sealed package. The consular official in Moscow made a mistake and kept the original and gave her back the copy. We had a copy to replace in the package -- although the POE official was willing even to make a copy for us.

A key for Atlanta POE -- be patient. Unlike JFK, these guys appeared to spend most of their time gossiping with each other and generally not working. We didn't like this, but had a long enough layover that it was going to be a problem. And when they got around to noticing that we were there, they were actually helpful.

9-18-2005 Visa in hand
11-23-2005 She arrives in USA

11-10-2006 We got married!

2-12-2007 I-130 sent by Express mail to NSC
2-26-2007 I-129F sent by Express mail to Chicago lock box
6-25-2007 Both NOA2s in hand; notice date 6-15-2007
