TAX RETURNS - 60 days to get them????

Help!! I just read on IRS this: If you need an actual copy of your return, you should complete and mail Form 4506 (PDF), Request for Copy of Tax Return, along with a check or money order for $ 39.00 per tax year made payable to the "United States Treasury". Allow 60 calendar days to receive your copies.

Within two weeks for transcripts...which is fine....but 60 days for the other ones?!?!!?!? Is that true??? Do I really need them? I have photocopies.....can I take those photocopies and transcripts???

I am just going to send the copies that I print at home. I've never heard anyone not approved for using them.

If you are talking tax transcripts, you can get them in only a few days and they are FREE.

Forget about the 4506 and pick up the phone call the 800 number and request simple transcripts.

One thing about I-134, the directions included with I-134 are very old, USCIS has no reason to update them since USCIS has no application for that form.

The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864.

In our case this what the I-134 included.

• I-134 signed and notarized.

• SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

• Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts)

• Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.

• Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.

My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values).

If your income exceeds 125% of the povertyline when counting yourself, prospective immigrant and any dependents, then don't bother with assets (401K, Bank balance, Stocks etc..), it is just extra un-needed data to provide, the consular officer is most concerned with INCOME.

Thanks!!! My interview is on february 5!!! So if what I read on IRS website is true that it takes that long then my fiance won't order them. I tell him to just get the transcripts....I read your post and it would be enough with that right???

I dialed the number, spoke with a nice lady at the IRS, she printed them out while we were speaking and popped them into the mail the next day. They arrived a few days later.

If your fiancee has access to a fax machine IRS will even fax them out.

Do not be surprised if the transcripts look kind of plain on ordinary paper, this is normal.

I called the IRS via the number they had on their website and requested my tax returns via an automated system. They arrived a few days later...just remember you requested them and that the IRS isn't auditing you...heheheh, usually one's first thought when they receive something from the IRS.

Anyhow, I've read that the tax transcripts are sufficient.

I ordered tax transcripts on the automated and they arrived exactly one week later. Mty fiance presented them at the interview and was approved, no questions asked. Definitely go for the transcripts!

my fiance can't get to speak to someone on IRS. The number he is dialing it's not working. 800-829-1040. He cannot the transcripts automatically. When he press get transcripts from 2005, it doesn't work. Does someone has another number?

I got it! The stupid machine wasn't working. In two different call I got two different messages!
