Hello everybody,

Um...I'm helping my brother and his wife (k1) filing for i-485 and i-765. I've been reading a lot of informations on here. However, for me situation's a little different. I was not the one who filed the k1 visa. My brother hired some local lawyer group to do it. Now they would charge too much just to file these applications. *sigh* Help me, thank you.

12/07/07 his fiance arrived CA

12/27/07 married @ county

01/08/08 applied for SS card

The lawyer group told my brother not to apply for SS card until married & received green card. I took over and read here that it should have been done after 2 weeks of arrival, delayed. I won't receive the SS card for another 2 weeks.

1. Do I need the SS # to file i-485 and i-765?

2. What is NOA2 required to submit with form? Is it when you file K1 they send you a notice? I saw everybody's timelines.

I want to submit the forms asap. PLease let me know. THank you so much.

Filed: AOS (apr) Country: Philippines

A social security number is not required for the I-485 & I-765. Write "none" in any block asking for social security number.

The NOA2 is the form you received from USCIS when your K1 was approved. Send a copy of it with your paperwork.

THANK YOU tsup2 and Lona.c. very much. This really helps a lot. Wow i didn't know there are so much stuff in that package. I was reading the guides and was gonna ask you guys if all those are necessary. Now I know. I think I will use lona's content as my guide because my brother's situation is the same I believe.

I see that most people file the i-131 in the package. I know it's an option but is it better to file that also just in case you want to travel? They require proof of emergency though. I probably wont file that...(^_^)
