k, maybe stupid question again, but i just want to do this right, im sure all of you understand me

so the question is, how do i figur 125% poverty line? my USC fiance is filing petition, he has already two kids n it is me n our newborn who need to get visa, so it makes 5 of us to be supported so as i learned 125% poverty line should b 30.162 dollars, right? Now as that is not what my fiance is makin, we gonna get co-sponsor, now if his family has 5ppl, does it mean we need to look for poverty line for 10 in household?

did i get this right?

thanks!

You asked this question yesterday and it was answered ;)

Click HERE for your original thread.

YuandDan linked the USCIS's page for the poverty level's.

A household of 5 would have to earn $30,162.

How many people exactly will be living in the house?

For 8 people it's $43,212...add an extra $4,350 per extra person.

It's all there on that website.

You will need a co-sponsor if he does not meet this income for a 10 person household which would be $51,912.

Good luck! :)

k, it goes like this....it is 5 of us in household, so my fiance does not meet the requirements, we need to get co-sponsor´s then, but if co-sponsor familly is 5ppl as well does the final poverty line needs to be for 10ppl then? or co-sponsor´s familly does not count?

thanks

I believe the Co-Sponsor's household counts too...so will be 10 total.

the co-sponsor is basically saying they will support all if something goes wrong with your income, so needs to prove 125% over your householdand their own combined

Does your fiance have assets he can use, he will need 5 times the amount of the difference of the 125 percent poverty.

take the Poverty line number of $30,162 and subtract his income. multiply that by 5 this is what he will need for assets

here is 1 link that explains all for you

I think on the second page of the Form I-134 only asking for the person(s) whom you are supporting fully or partially. I also think it would only be the two of you unless you are supporting your family as well.

I have to respectfully disagree with the household size being 10. The co-sponsor needs to show support for his family, including himself, and the foreign fiance. So if the co-sponsor is in family of 5 + fiance = 6.

The US govt does not care about support for the USC or his dependents when talking about the co-sponsor's income/asset level.

I'll hold my tongue about a father of two making less than $31K producing another child
