I signed up for status updates via USCIS which are to be sent to my email. Do those updates include the "touches"? How do people know when their case has been touched? I haven't recieved any notices yet, so I'm assuming mine hasn't, but just wanted to be sure how to check on that.

Thanks and happy new year VJ!

Ok, when you log in a page will appear that has your name at the top, case number and the important thing to look for is the "last updated" column. It most likely will say 12/10/07 since that is your NOA receipt date. It will change when they do anything with your file (move it, look at it if you call to inquire, work on it etc...). It won't keep a running tab of your touches so if you're concerned about knowing Every time it's touched you'll want to look every day. I'm not encouraging you to develop OCD or anything lol but once they touch it again, the previous date it was touched is gone.

Try not to make yourself too crazy about it because touches don't always mean that someone is working on your file. It is a nice consolation though that your case is at least there.\

Keep in mind that you won't receive an email every time it's touched. Only when they approve, deny or send an RFE (from what I have seen anyway). Mine has been touched several times now, but I have never received an email from CRIS so it must still be in the process. I called once and was told it was in the name check stage.

Hope this helps :)

Hehe yes, I'm afraid it's too late for me though  . I check at least 15 times a day and get mad each time when it's not updated...then can't believe it when it IS updated and look at it 5 more times to make sure i'm not seeing things then wonder what's going on with it. Next day wake up and repeat!

We should get discounts on therapy for going through this!!

CBR - I can totally understand why you would OCD over it though - you have had so many touches it must be driving you nuts!!!

I don't think it can be helped though... it does drive you crazy  When you get nearer your time and see other people who filed the same time as you get approved then you start to get obsessed.... at least I did!!!!

Haha thanks guys - I just checked and it looks like our case was touched Dec. 28th :)

Now that I know how to check that I'll probably develop OCD as well! How will I ever thank you? Haha!
