Interview Date

I was just wondering, how far in advance do you receive the interview date, is it about a month in advance, less? more? I want to join my fiance for the interview so I would like to know how far in advance we know the date.

Usually in about a month you will know your interview date after receiving the packet 4. Packet 4 is where you find out you medical and interview date. Good luck!!!

It depends on a lot of factors, but mostly which embassy you are dealing with and how busy they happen to be at the time. I'd say a month is a good estimate.

Also, keep in mind that not all embassies allow the U.S. petitioner to attend the interview (fears of "coaching" and whatnot), so you might want to contact the embassy before you make plans.

The Embassy in Brazil allows us to attend but the questions are directed at your fiancee in english, or portuguese which ever she is more comfortable with.
