Why is it that people in poor countries always multiply like vermin? Don't they give a ####### about their kids and what the future holds for them?

Mostly because in poorer countries, having many children is wise because of a) higher infant and child mortality rates and b ) more kids equals more security in a society without a social safety net. Also, poor access to contraception.

all they need are vcr's. that usually works well in cutting down proliferation.

HDTV + Cable + DVR or HDTV + HD-DVD/Blu-Ray works even better.
