I LOVE beef stew.....here's my version - qick and easy!

2lbs stew meat cut into cubes

quarter cup of flour

sal and pepper to taste

2 cups of beef broth

teaspoon worcestershire sauce

1 clove garlic minced

bay leaf

half teaspoon paprika

carrots

onions

celery

2 teaspoons kitchen bouquet

Basically the only thing i do is ensure that the beef is coated with the flour - chuck the beef in the pot then the flour on top of it....then once all the beef is coated ...pile the rest in ...i usually cook this at approx 350 for about hour to hour and half....i sometimes have to add extra liquid - so dont be afraid to check it after about an hour...

let me know how it goes....my usc husband was a little suprised i did stew in the oven as he says it should be on stove top...so i guess for him it is beef casserole?...this is a firm favourite for me.....

Hi I cook mine on low for several hours in my crock pot...always tender...also can use some meat tenderizer...however I think if its cooked slow over time will be okay...good luck

a quarter of a cup of apple juice with any beef will help to keep the meat tender. My ex-mother in law swears by it.. and I've found it works. I use it when i cook beef in the slow cooker or in the oven.
