They appoint you a time where you have to bring all your documents... and then you usually have wait for the visa interview.

Cheap and good hotels near the Consulate?
Come on, Switzerland is tiny! Switzerland would hate to be known as being cheap. Everyone is within 3 hours train or car travel time to the Embassy.
Additional Info?
There are not many people going through this embassy. Hence it's very efficient. Don't be surprised if they remember your email from 6 months ago!!!

When you take your Medical make sure that the doctor gives you a copy of all the information you have to take to the Embassy especially the completed DS-3025 which will be required for filing AOS for a K-1. It is highly likely that you need these copies later on in the visa process.
