Juan & Karen El Paso 2007-10-31 - High We weren't harassed directly, but the US border officers were intimidating and managed NOT to give Juan the very important I-94. We didn't notice this at the time-- I asked twice if we should be receiving anything other than Juan's passport, and the officer impatiently said "no, that's all you need." So, we crossed the border without incident and realized the lack of I-94 only several months later, after we'd married, when we went to apply for Juan's SSN. By this point, we'd learned I was pregnant, and immigration stress was getting to us, so we hired a lawyer to deal with the complication. Expensive, but worth it. 2010-02-02
