Already having moved to Ecuador, we then requested directly with Montreal to transfer the case. As it turns out, we needed to request Guayaquil to send the request to Montreal. They did so on December 27th, 2021. Since then, the only response that we have received from Montreal is that the request to transfer is "under review" and that it could take several months to process. It is an electronic transfer (according to both consulates) and so we don't think it should take too long. We have contacted my state representatives to give Montreal a little push. [UPDATE] Contacting the state representatives worked like a charm. We received notification from Guayaquil that the case had been transferred and were able to make an interview appointment very quickly. It only took two days after our representatives made a congressional inquiry into the Montreal consulate.	2022-04-05
