Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our lawyer was allowed to enter the interview room with us, however because there were only two chairs in front of the interviewer, the lawyer stood next to us.
As soon as we made the oath, we were asked to submit I-693 medical exam.

Questions to the petitioner:
- How/where did you meet?
- What is your job? name of your company? start day of your work?

Questions to the beneficiary:
- What do you do?
- When did you come to the states? and have you ever left the country after your entry?
- What is the country of your current citizenship?
- Do you have more than one citizenship?

Questions to both petitioner and beneficiary (continuously asked 5-10 times)

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Arrived 15 minutes prior to interview (not allowed to arrive earlier than this due to covid restrictions). Got through security swiftly. Check in asked to see our interview notice and my spouse (applicant) had to provide ID and get photographed. We were called back from the waiting area instantly. Our officer started the interview by swearing us in, then explained that we would review our AOS packet and make any necessary changes. Questions were mostly directed at my spouse. We stepped through the packet and hubby provided updates for our address, his last time of entry and port of entry to the US, and his employer information. The officer asked him questions about where we live, whether we own or rent, how many bedrooms we have, what they're used for, if anyone else lives with us, any pets. We were both asked to describe each other's work hours and who we worked for. Hubby was asked what his employer's address is. She asked each of us to tell her the names of each other's parents as w... read complete review

Officer asked for evidence of continued relationship and hard evidence of joint statements.

We showed our insurance policies (health, dental, vision), papers listing her as a beneficiary on my retirement accounts, and shared our tax statements.

We brought all our original i-485 evidence which included photos as well as any additional photos since the day we submitted our original i-485. Officer skimmed at the new photos but generally seemed to also be well prepared from our file.

Questions from Officer:
To American Spouse-
When did you meet?
How did you propose?

To Immigrant Wife-
What is your current address?
Does your current address have an apartment number?
Did your families know each other before you met?
Have the (immigrant spouse) ever been to the USA before?

and asked the list of Yes/No questions from the i-485 document
