Timeline so far:
• I-129F Petition Filed: April 25, 2024
• NOA1 Received: April 25, 2024
• NOA2 Approval: [Insert approval date if you received it]
• NVC Case Creation Date: September 19, 2024
• Case Sent to the Embassy: August 22, 2024
• Status “Ready” at US Embassy Addis Ababa: October 25, 2024
I am currently in the “Ready” status at the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa as of October 25, 2024. However, I haven’t received an email regarding my interview schedule yet, and it’s been over a week since my case was marked as “Ready.”
My questions:
• For those who went through the K-1 process at the Addis Ababa Embassy, how long did it take for your interview to be scheduled after your case was marked as “Ready”?
• Is it normal to wait several weeks, or even longer, after the “Ready” status before receiving the interview appointment email?

I am filling out this on behalf of my wife (fiance at the time of the interview) who interviewed for the Fiancee Visa at the US Embassy in Addis Ababa. The appointment was very early in the morning around 7am, and she arrived an hour beforehand. She brought her DS-160 confirmation, proof of visa payment, interview confirmation with instructions, birth certificate, police report, sealed medical examination and two passport sized photos. She also brought some additional photos of the two of us, my tax returns for the past three years and the original I-129F package. I recall that we did not need some of these documents, but I would recommend doing your own research and bringing more than what is needed, just in case.
They gave her the option to speak in Amharic or English. She spoke both languages but was more comfortable with Amharic. They asked her about how she met me, about when we got engaged and about our wedding here in the states (location, date, etc...). They also... read complete review

Simple straightforward interview. My fiancé arrived at the embassy around 6:20am for a 7:30am appointment time. He was asked to provide DS 160 confirmation page, proof of paid visa fee, interview instructions, birth certificate, marital status paper, police report, and 2 passport size photos before the actual interview.
Questions:
1. How did you two meet?
2. (I met him when I went to his moms funeral) the officer asked how does she know your mom?
3. What does she do for a living?
4. What do you do for a living?
5. What are your wedding plans?
6. (We had a wedding date booked) officer said can you provide proof of that? Then he said never mind I don't want it.
Then the officer asked for the photo album that my fiancé had with him. He was flipping through the pictures when he stopped on one of my fiancé's little brother and I and asked, who is this? After that interview was done and my fiancé was... read complete review
