The same thing happened to me; so I'm advising you to send in the DS-230 that you've downloaded from the department of state website or Jame's Shortcut along with the cover sheet they sent u. Within a week or two your case should be completed.

You can only do this if you've paid the IV bill. If you've paid that bill already, go ahead and send it the DS-230; do not wait for them to generate it----time is ticking....

Good luck!!!

You could send out the DS-230 with a copy of the letter/checklist stating they need the DS-230. Afterall, that letter states they want you to submit the "missing" forms/fees.

But, but, but... you have to know what other documents, if any, need to be submitted with the DS-230. The requirements differ sometimes from one country to another. For example, Canadian CR-1 applicants need to submit certified copies of birth and marriage certificates and the police clearances. With some countries, they don't need to mail these in with the DS-230. They just bring it with them to the interview. I don't know what they need for applicants from India.

Good luck!

Oh! Thanks for the heads-up. I didn't realize I (my husband-agent!) was going to have to send in the police clearance in advance.

Oh thanks, Wench! You're a sweetheart. I'm sure I saw that at some point in the past but completely forgot about it until you posted it. I've been so busy with work (to the point that my head's spinning) that when we received our case number last week I tried to get my husband rush down to the post office to mail everything that day. Luckily he couldn't make it (which annoyed me!) and in the meantime I remembered that we're not supposed to send in the forms until they're generated.

I'm going to be one of those people who uses James's shortcuts who probably shouldn't. Luckily my husband's much more level-headed than I am.

Option A

I don't think it's advisable to put in 2 barcode pages. They might get confused. The simpler the package, the better for them... just my opinion.
