DS-260: mistake

Hi!

I was selected in the DV lottery and already filled the DS-260.

The problem is: I own a university degree, which I put in the DS-260. But I think I selected "High School education" on my original application (by mistake).

Does this disqualify me for the interview or it is an acceptable mistake that I will be allowed to explain in the Consulate?

Thank you.

Thanks (also for the correction). I guess you mean a new DS-260, and not a DS-160.

So I understand I will be allowed to have the interview anyway, and then I can explain and take a new and corrected form.

Doesn't matter what you put in the application form about education, what matters is that you qualify at the time of the interview.

You don't take your DS260 with you, the consulate will have the electronic copy you submitted. If you want to correct your DS260, email KCC with your details (full name, case number, date of birth IN AMERICAN CONVENTION mm-dd--yyyy) and ask to unlock the DS260 for you. Depending how busy they are could take a few days before you get notified its ready for you. There is plenty of time to go...don't rush it, double check everything else is correct before resubmitting it.

By the way there is no prior selection or deselection for interview. If you are selected for DV and you submit a DS260, you will be scheduled an interview when your case number is current. Being granted an interview doesn't say anything about your eligibility etc because only a consular officer can make that determination, and will do so at your interview.
