Traveling question

Hello, Everyone

I applied N-400 in September 2017 and now I am just waiting.

I am planing a vacation to Mexico this summer.

Have any of you travel outside of USA while N-400 is pending and had any issues??

I am a green card holder for past 15plus years but I get stopped at custom every single time when I travel out of USA which is so annoying. That was one of reasons I finally decided to apply for N-400.

Thank you

I believe you can continue to travel as you always have. Just keep a record of all travel outside the US because you will have to inform them during your interview.

It happens to a lot of people. Just try not to be away too long in case they mail you the interview exam date and you miss it because of you being abroad. Have somebody you trust check your mailbox while you are on your trip.

You can travel without any problem. I filed back in June 2017. My husband and I traveled to my home country for Christmas for a month and 2 weeks after we came back in January my case updated to interview scheduled. Just try to keep track of your case so you don't miss anything.

Only going for a week.

According to time line,(I am in Memphis and process time is 12.5 months to 17 months 😑) I have a long way to go.

I too traveled with a pending N400 and an expired but extended green card.  This summer I’ll travel with my new US passport for the first time :D
