Does the first box for "I am applying for: " need to be checked for a K2 if the child is under 14 years old?  I want to fill this out so that the child can get the SS card and number so I understand that the child will not be working but there's no option for only needing the SS number.  I couldn't find an answer looking through the other AOS forums on VisaJourney.

Right.  I understand it needs to be filled out and submitted for a K2 but I'm confused about the first box to check.  For the K1 it'll be for authorization to work but for the K2 it'll be for the SS card and number since a 5 year old won't be working anytime soon.  I'm not sure if I leave it unchecked or if I do check the "Permission to accept employment."  None of the boxes necessarily correspond to a K2's application.

Hi, I filed EAD for my Wife, K1 and Son K2 at the same time as the AOS.  Today I got notification that the EAD card for my wife is ready to be produced.  My son's EAD is still Received status.  Do they approve EAD for both K1 and K2 at the same time ?

That's what I was wondering.  It appears that they are processed separately which I was wondering about.  I see that a couple months have almost passed since you posted this.  Has your K2 EAD arrived yet?  Neither of ours has arrived yet but we filed at the end of January.

Did you apply for the combo EAD/AP card or just EADs?  Also, my K2 is a 6 year old so I wasn't sure if it would be a problem applying for an EAD would be a problem.  Is your K2 a minor as well?  Thanks.

You should write your question in the AOS forum section.  I would think you want to get an InfoPass to see what happened, especially if you missed your interview.

Sorry for the late reply but yes my son is 7. After he got his EAD we applied for and got his SSN. NO we only did EAD.
