Can an American who lives abroad help me co sponsor my green card

A cousin (or their husband) cannot sponsor a green card. The purpose of the process is family reunification, which is limited to spouses, children, parents, and siblings (albeit that's a 15-30 year wait...). In-laws, cousins, grandparents/grandkids, etc. are not included (albeit you could petition for parents and then they can petition for their parents once they have a green card).

I need a co sponsor not a sponsor. The main sponsor will be my husband

It might be possible for them to complete an I-864 for you depending on what exactly he is doing for the US government overseas.

Gotcha. I'm on hour 26 and still going on my flights, and missed that wording. So this is for the Affadavit of Support.
