I got my Birth Notarial Certificate last year in China. It has 5 pages in total. Cover page, pluz two page in Chinese and two in English. I submitted my I-485 application last month and along with it the copy of Birth Notarial Certificate. Last week I received a RFE as the following:

“All copies must be clear and legible. If you submit a document in any
language other than English, it must be submitted with a full english
translation. The translator must certify that the translation is complete
and accurate, and that he or she is competent to translate.

Submit an English translation of the foreign language birth certificate you
submitted for the applicant. All foreigh language documents must be
submitted with an English translation."

But actually, my birth notarial certificate has english translation and the seal from China. Is it because of the cover? it is in chinese only....I am wondering what should I do? Can I just resubmit the copy of only 4 page with two page in Chinese and 2 in English without the cover (which was only in Chinese)? Thanks.

No. The whole Notarial Certificate document was issued in my hometown in China. The last two pages (one in Chinese, one in English) has the statement "Issue under notarization: True and exact translation. This is to certify that the English version of the Notarial Certifiate attached hereto is in conformity with the original Chinese copy of the said Notarial Certificate"..

And in the bottom of the page ha sthe signatory seal..

My wife had the same thing, she is from Henan, China. We got the book from the notary "white book". I attached the cover so you can see if you have the same.

Page 2. Birth certificate in Chinese with photo

Page 3. English translation

Page 4. Notarial certificate in Chinese

Page 5. Notarial certificate in English

Page 6. Blank page (back of book)

My wife had no RFE for this and it was accepted as is.
