Hi, I asked it before in a different topic, but I think I didn't explain myself very clear. So I would like to ask again, because you probably have more experience.

My case is this: My wife has tax return for 2014, but she doesn't have it for 2015. Her income for 2016 is 12k because she worked only 6 months, but her pay rate is above 125% the poverty guide. Do you think they will ask for a joint sponsor? We are scared that they might ask it because we do not have anyone to do it. As far as I everyone told me, what matter is her current paying.

Thanks.

RogJac is right. You need to prove that she has current income that exceeds the 125% poverty level.

In addition to the 2016 tax records....Gather all 6 months of her pay stubs. Get a letter from her employer stating her salary, that her job is permanent (not temp), and that she is in good standing. You should be ok.

As a precaution: they might still come back and ask you for the past 3 years of tax info. I would presumptively file her missing 2015 return, just in case you need to produce it in the future. Even if she did not earn any money in 2015 (like if she was in school, for example) she still has to file with the IRS stating no earned income.

that would be fine. but the most important is submit your 3 years income tax return,, make a letter or note why in 2015 she has 0. just provide employment letter from the company stating that she is full time and mention how much she is making . provide bank statement and direct deposit statement/paystub.
