How much extra did it cost you to use them instead of just filing yourself?

We used Rapidvisa for K-1 and AOS. Excellent service IMO. They make it very difficult to make a mistake. Probably could have done it on our own but it was nice to have someone review the forms before submission.

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to assist me. I've been reading here a lot and I'm still a bit unsure of what to do here.

Let me give a summation of my situation.

I'm American. My wife is Brazilian. We met in Brazil almost a decade ago and we've been married for almost 7 years (living in Brazil). We got married in Brazil. We also have a 1 year old son who has dual citizenship. We've been spending more time in the U.S over the last 2-3 years and this year I think we're going to move to the U.S. (currently here visiting now).

I think we want to return to Brazil one more time for a couple of weeks and then come back to the U.S. We'll move to the SF Bay Area (as I work in tech).

1. I've been reading about RapidVisa and VisaNow. Supposedly they both have a really high rate of approvals. Has anyone here used them and does the community here generally think such services are worth the money. I'm willing to do all the legwork myself, but this is a very important process. Thus, I'm willing to pay the extra amount if that's what it takes to make sure things are done correctly.

2. I'm doing a startup from savings so my income isn't strong right now. Though I'll likely raise funds for my startup in Silicon Valley. Should I get my parents to sponsor me just to make sure things are fine.

3. How much should I expect to spend?

4. Which visa should we apply for?

All RapidVisa and VisaNow do is fill up the forms -with info you have to provide; literally, they will save you very little time and happily take your money.

There is no 'rapid' visa; approvals rates are meaningless when it comes to these kind of services..VJ could claim same only we do not here do the process for others, this is a DIY site. Process takes months. SInce you are here, as others have advised; do not, repeat, do not leave the country (your wife I mean) until you get adjusted.

Ok. That's great to know. I'll definitely do it myself then.

How much extra did it cost you to use them instead of just filing yourself?

Looks like their current price for K-1 is $375. What ever their price was when we filed was the extra we paid. They have one flat price for the service. I would recommend going to the site and/or calling. If I remember correctly the owners name is Ben and I was able to talk to him directly quite a few times when I had questions. What I liked is that they have done thousands of these applications and seen all different situations and how to handle them. BTW no I dont work for them but I was very happy with the service. They do not speed up the time it takes for approval as the previous poster said. They fill in the form as you enter the data and sometimes less confusing as the actual application can be.

Keep in mind there are many people here that can help you if you cant afford the extra cost. If you read and follow the instructions on this site you should be fine. Read your application 10 times carefully for completeness and mistakes, gather the required docs etc., make sure everything is signed, arrange it neatly in a folder and send it in. Dont forget your check :) Good luck
