SCHEDULING INTERVIEW MYSELF?

question...

so i called the NVC to ask if i could have a interview programmed faster since im going to DR next week, they told me to call the embassy, SO i called the embassy and they sent me an email next day with instructions for me to schedule the appointment myself for my convenience....

i went online and i scheduled the appointment for 04/21.... so my question is.... is it that easy? i called 4 times and spoke to 4 different people, they told me that i can just go and schedule the appointment. I cant believe it...

Wow! that is great, I wonder what is happening because I was able to schedule our VAC appointment and I don't even have my embassy appointment yet....very weird in a good way...can't wait to hear other member's experience with this since like you I am kind of in disbelief

So now that you scheduled the interview,just call and confirm with the embassy in Santo Domingo. That's what I'll do. But how about the medical portion,don't you need to complete that step before the actual interview?

A friend of mine told me to ck and see if the VAC would take my case number and it did, so I guesstimated the time and schedule it, I figure that it can always be change or cancelled if need be....I am only waiting for the embassy appinment at this time so we'll see

Hey all you wonderful DR folk can you please come by the Case Complete to Interview thread and also if you could fill out thr form so I can add you to the spreadsheet.

I have heard mix reviews of people scheduling their own but have yet to hear someone who scheduled their own come back and say they had interview. I only know of expedites who can.

Do keep us up to date.

Well I added you to the spreadsheet this is great news. I pray it is all cool. Please keep us up to date here or on the Interview thread would be great come tell other DR's to do the same as you. I have a few waiting for NVC.

The thing I want to know is when does your petition get sent. I mean now you are scheduled so does the embassy get smart enough to request it.

Why do they have to make it so dang hard.

Update!!

After calling the nvc and the embassy like 7 times i ended up canceling the appointment... Turns out that the agents at the embassy didnt know what they were doing... When i spoke with the last agent she told me that since the embassy didnt have my packet yet the consul might deny my petition so i needed to call the nvc so when i called twice they said the same thing, i should wait and after they give me the interview date, i can check online and when the status change to ready then i can change the date to whatever i want.

Now it makes sense. My sister got case complete on March 25 and NVC scheduled her interview for May 19.
