Is the NOA1 Hardcopy needed or Important?

Hi everyone,

We've received the NOA1 in text and email. We've also been told that we'll receive the NOA1 hard copy in the post and that we should follow the instruction in the letter, however we've yet to receive it and it has nearly been three weeks now.

So my question is;

is it important to have the NOA1 hard copy and are we going to receive a different case number than what we have already received in email&txt?

The address is correct as UCIS sent us back our package before receiving the NOA1(We forgot to sign something, silly us, I know)

The important thing about NOA1 is the case number. Yours should likely start with "WAC," followed by a series of numbers. If you have that number set you can set-up at account at USCIS and follow your case.

The NOA2 is the one that you should receive and retain the hardcopy.

Yeah I did receive the WAC followed by numbers.

How do you set up an account on USCIS? do you mean the check your case on www.uscis.gov ?

The NOA1 is not important it just tell you that the USCIS has receive your case and what service center it was sent to and it has your case number it is the same as what you receive in the e-mail the case number in the e-mail and letter will be the same that will be your case# at the USCIS. when you get your petition approve you will get a NOA2 stating it is approve. The NOA2 is more important then the NOA1
