I didn't need a visa. I was in the United States already on an F1 student visa and was adjusting my status here for permanent residency. I was waiting for my interview which I had to attend at the local USCIS field office in Seattle where I live. It was taking really long because of a nationwide backlog by many USCIS field offices. By the way I did attend on March 4th and my permanent residency was approved same day. Received my Green card 7 days later.

Yeah it can be quite a journey. Looks like you had your immigrant visa interview on April 24th. Did it go well? Were you put on AP (administrative processing)? Seems to happen a lot especially in high fraud countries. Have been chatting with one Cameroonian girl as well who was going through a K1 fiasco and was in AP for almost 5 months after her interview. She just recently had her visa a few days ago.

Okie. Interview shouldn't be long from now since Yaounde isn't one of those very busy embassies. My dad had his immigrant visa interview a month after case was complete at the NVC last January. His own case was IR5 though ( Parent of a U.S. Citizen). Little sister petitioned for him. Good luck with your interview!
