G 325A form can be scanned and sent?

Hello Guys

Have a quick question my fiance has the G325A form ready to go and I wanted to know if she would need to mail it to me so I can submit it with the whole 129F package or can she just scan it and email it to me.

Will the USCIS accept it? anybody else has submitted it that way?

Thanks in advance.

Most of us (from what I've seen) have scanned and printed it. I did that myself.

I'm pretty sure USCIS wants the original forms that have a wet signature, so I don't think a scanned copy that you print at home would be acceptable to submit to them, unless it's a copy you are keeping for your own record. I had my fiancé mail me anything that needed to be signed, including the G-325A.

Although if geowrian did not have an issue with scanning, and others haven't as they mentioned, it might be acceptable either way and then you could choose the easiest/quickest option - her scanning and you printing it :)

Yeah, this topic comes up fairly often here. There's a group that reads the guidelines exactly as stated, in which a wet signature would be necessary. But I have yet to see one rejected for using a scan of the G-325A. :) Worst case, they will have your spouse sign it at the interview.

This would have saved me so much time back in October had I known  I had it drilled into my head that everything needed a wet signature! Haha glad to learn something new regardless, thank you for the link! ^_^ Forgot to add- love how all the lawyers have different approaches to the question

Thanks ! You guys rock!!

One last question (not really) are the affidavits of relationships really needed from her friends and mine  when submitting the whole package or should  I wait for the RFE

Thanks!

What country is your partner coming from? Normally, front-loading isn't suggested except for cases with red flags or with high-fraud countries. The proof of an ongoing relationship pieces are only required for the embassy/visa processing, not the I-129F. The I-129F only needs proof that you met within the past 2 years.

Thanks for the quick reply.

My fiancee lives in the Phillipines so dont know if i still should have her mail me the affidavits or just wait for later as you stated

i do have itineraries and pics of my visits (3 in total)  including one trip together we took to Japan

Will that be enough?

Thanks again !

Philippines is kind of a gray area. It's generally considered a higher fraud country, but also isn't as strict as some of the high fraud countries. They're pretty good at not giving legitimate couples are hard time, IMHO.

Itineraries and pics together are perfectly fine as proof having met in person within the past 2 years. Boarding passes are commonly used as one form of evidence as well. Just follow the K1 guide here and you should be fine. Personally, I provided some photos of us together, passport pages showing the stamps (not all pages as I used by BC for proof of citizenship), and dated + endorsed documents with our passport numbers on them (including one set with photo IDs). One such set was our JR Passes from our 2 trips (since you noted traveling to Japan I figured I'd add this). That's probably overboard, but better safe than sorry.

Whether or not you decide to provide the affidavits with the I-129F or later is up to you. I generally take the approach of "less is more" - just give them what they ask for and give it when they need it. Others would prefer to front-load. There's pros and cons to each approach. Just note that you will need to provide proof of an ongoing relationship at the visa stage as well. The affidavits from now probably won't be enough to prove that you still have an ongoing relationship with your partner (i.e. you could have ended the relationship since then). You'll still need to provide new documentation showing that your relationship is bona fide.

Hopefully others can chime in as well. I don't want somebody to take my opinion for the best approach law. :)

Good luck!
