My mom filed an FB2 visa application for my sister and now she got an email from the NVC saying she is in the queue awaiting an interview appointment. My sister had a baby two months ago, how is this going to affect the process? If she gets a visa , will they be able to travel together once her visa is current? She's still unmarried.

Thank you.

Your sister needs to contact the NVC to add her baby as a derivative beneficiary. The baby will need his/her own immigration visa.

Write a letter to the NVC. Include the name, address, and birthdates of the petitioner and beneficiary with the NVC case number. Include a copy of the baby's birth certificate with a certified English translation.

This is exactly what I did to add a baby to my nephew's case. His LPR father is petitioning him in the F2b category.

As long as she is not married, everything's gonna be fine.

Thank you! We'll write the letter to the NVC.
