So my Fiancee is at St. Lukes.

They turned her away and said she needs to have interview scheduled for US Embassy in Manila BEFORE they will do Medical. WTH?

It says here you do NOT need to have it scheduled.

K-Visa B(e)

We want interview in FEB but only Jan is available so I had to schedule her just now for end of January.

She printed out the US embassy letter for interview and brought it to St. Lukes.

Now they tell her she needs K-1 letter with (number).

That the heck is that?

I gave her the NOA 2.

I gave her the NVC letter.

They said they need letter from US EMBASSY now.

Anyone experience this before?

I thought Embassy doesn't send out the packet 3 or what ever it's called anymore?

Grrrrrr..

Do you have the letter from NVC with the MNL # on it? You need the NVC letter or the interview confirmation letter, per USEM.

http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3218.html

What should I bring to my medical examination?

  • DS-260 Confirmation Form (strongly recommended). (DS-160 for the K-1 visa)
  • Appointment letter sent by the National Visa Center or an e-mail confirmation from the Visa Information and Appointment Service.
  • Appropriate medical examination fee.
  • Passport (valid for at least 6 months)
  • Three color pictures (2 inches x 2 inches) with a white background(two are for the visa and one is for the medical report).

Where in that does it say " you do NOT need to have it scheduled."?

As for the second part maybe a copy of the DS-160....sounds like you and your fiancee are having a communication issue, or at least she with them there's nothing called a K-letter.

So requirement "C" says 4 and Embassy says 3. USEM and SLEC are not on the "same page".

Most have used the screen shot of the Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation from the Embassy Online Registration confirmation to enter SLEC for medical with no problems.

Here is what is on SLEC's website for required documents.

A.REGULAR IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS

EACH APPLICANT MUST PRESENT THE FOLLOWING:

a.Valid passport

b.1 photocopy of Passport Biographic/Data Page, the page in the passport that contains the applicant's photo and information. Photocopy on short bond paper. Passport photocopy should be the same size as the original, not enlarged or reduced.

c.4 pieces recent 2"x2" visa photos (see visa photo guide), 3 for submission to the U.S. Embassy, 1 for clinic file. ALL PHOTOS MUST BE IDENTICAL. Write the applicant's complete name at the back of each photo. The US Embassy requires you to bring the 2x2 photos for your visa issuance. We regret not to release the medical report until such time that you can provide this requirement.

d.Interview letter from the National Visa Center (NVC) or Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation from the Embassy

◾Principal Applicant - original & 1 photocopy
◾Derivatives - 1 photocopy each

If Interview letter or Visa Interview Confirmation was received via email, print 2 copies for the principal applicant and 1 copy for each derivative

e. For applicants who registered online, 1 copy of the online registration confirmation form

a.Applicants who did not register online are required to provide the name, address (include city, state, and zip code), contact number, and email address of their petitioner in the U.S.A.

"Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation from the U.S. Embassy , if available"

I interpreted the "if available" part to mean exactly that beside I've read elsewhere on this board that it is NOT required to have an embassy interview scheduled in order to complete the Medical.

My fiancee said St. Lukes asked her for the "K-1 Letter" that was their words to her.

I sent her the NOA 2 and the letter from NVC that stated my approved petition was being sent to US Embassy in Manila.

After my initial post here my fiancee sent me a photo from her cell camera of another girls letter this letter came from US Embassy to the lady in Manila. I believe this is part of packet 3?

I was told this packet rarely goes out well apparently it does because this other lady had it in her hand and my fiancee did not.

So I ended up signing up for an interview in January with US Embassy that we will just have to cancel later as I still need to gather other proof of relationship which will include my 3rd trip to see her next month plus the I-134 and supporting documents.

She went across the street from Embassy (that net cafe must be making a mint) to a internet cafe and printed out the Embassy Interview confirmation appointment letters.

As of now she has texted me that they are inside St. Lukes and processing through the exams.

First let me say that I am glad that she is finally in for her medical. I hope that goes well for her.

Tyler, the P3 rarely is received by the beneficiary in the Philippines. Some do but 99.5% do not. Most of our comments is "that it rarely arrives" to those who are processing in the Phili, hence that is why we push for you to get your MNL so you can save some time. Besides, what is needed is everything that is in the Embassy Letter. I think you have that.

Once the medical is complete you're almost home. Just remember, that the passport must have at least 6 months of validity left before she leaves Phil, her CENOMAR and NBI must not be older than 6 months at the time of the interview and her NBI must be searched on all AKA's. Any of this not completed will get you another delay with an RFE.

Good luck.

Hello Obi Wan Greenbaum!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Day 1 for her and the 4 year old were complete. No medical issues at this point.

Thanks for the reminders on the other items. Passports are brand new, CENOMAR and NBI within the last month.

Day 2 for her tonight and day 3 for her son tomorrow.
