Requirements for Registration

States only a photocopy required:

5. Photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for USA-bound emigrant (must not be detached from visa packet)

The data summary sheet is attached to the envelope and is not to be removed, why are they asking for the original on the first webpage? They don't need nor do we want to let them handle the visa envelope, its not for them to touch.

I guess the data sheet can be photocopied thru the plastic.

Also what is:

7. Duly completed emigrant registration form?

Thanks all!

The question was about asking for the Original of the immigration data summary for US-bound emigrants, since it's not to be detached/removed from the envelope...

You can remove the DO NOT OPEN envelope from the plastic to photocopy, just keep it protected so it gets no tears, then return it to the plastic (for safe keeping until POE). And yes you can photocopy it through the plastic as well.

Registration form is online at the CFO website and can be completed when attending CFO.

The answer is still no. I did my CFO seminar for US bound last October as well and they didnt ask me for the original IDS.

You bring the packet with you, keeping it inside the plastic bag. And you bring copies.

Like Hank said bring the packet with you and you will have the original, and since you made copies you will have a copy. So you satisfied original and copy as requested.

From searching this forum and talking to a few people, they only brought a photocopy of the IDS

and no problems at CFO.

There's no need to take the risk of loosing or damaging something as important as the packet for the trip, or having them handle something their not suppose to touch.

They know the IDS is not to be removed, and all they need is a photocopy.
