My fiancee went to the St. Luke medical today 12/29 and learned that starting January 5, there are some new medical procedures according to a very recent US Embassy in Manila update. Below is a summary, and then a link to the US Embassy Manila Facebook page where USEM provided the update. The update specifies IMMIGRANT visas, so I am not sure if that only means K3 and not K1. Because the update refers to the DS-260 application and not the DS-160, it seems like this update only is for K3 visa applicants. Maybe someone with more knowledge can clarify that.

Notice to Immigrant Visa Applicants: Medical Examination Process Update

Beginning January 5, 2015, St. Luke’s Medical Center Extension Clinic (SLMCEC) will release the medical exam results directly to the applicants unless instructed otherwise by the Panel Physician.

Immigrant Visa applicants are required to bring the sealed medical exam report to their scheduled interview at the U.S. Embassy Manila. Tampered pouches will not be accepted in the interview and applicants will be instructed to return the pouch to SLMCEC for reseal. They are also required to present individual DS-260 confirmation page during the visa interview.

Applicants without the necessary documentation will encounter significant delays in the visa application process.

My fiancee will find out January 5 when she returns for the second day of the medical. It was unclear 12/29 at St Lukes if K1 was included or not, so I assume USEM will clarify that with St Lukes before 1/5, despite all the closings at the hospitals the next few days.

We were in SLEC today for final medical clearance. It has been a long process for us as we have been in the DOT program since April.

Needless to say I am very proud of her success as she is now complete to what they call a re-medical.

We were NOT given the sealed medical report from SLEC Releasing today. We did receive the Vaccination form and the CD. I questioned them as to why we were not being given our envelope. SLEC said to us that since we were DOT we are considered a different classification, which I believe to be Class A. Perhaps others who recently did not receive their sealed envelope were a Class that requires SLEC to be the delivery service for their sealed medical envelope.
