Interview Date, enough time?

I filled out the DS 160 yesterday with my fiancé, and got confirmation. Today I set appointment.

The ASC appointment is set for in Juarez on Tuesday, June 10, 2014.

The INTERVIEW is set for in Juarez on Thursday June 12, 2014.

She will be going for the Medical on Monday June 9, 2014. MY UNDERSTANDING IS NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED???

1) Is there anything that I need to turn in online before the counsulate appointment???

2) Is there enough time between the Counselate and intended date of medical in case I run into problems?

3) Enough time between ASC and Interview??

4) I am still worried about Police Certificates, the old Juarez instructions gave inference that they were only needed if convicted of crime. The one I printed out yesterday wants certificates without qualification!

5) Can the medical be the day before the ASC?

Tips/FYI: When I did the DS 160 it did not give option to upload photo. At the end it said that Photo would be taken at ASC. When I paid online, I got to print online receipt version. When I got the appointment, I got to print online "Appointment Information" which shows date and time, etc.

Yes, that is enough time. You can do the medical and/or the ASC the day before the interview even. The medical results will be given to you the same day of the exam. You go early in the morning and then come back in the afternoon for your sealed envelope with the results inside to take to the interview with you. You can do the medical before the ASC or after. It makes no difference.

There is nothing to turn in before the interview. You follow the instructions and bring everything listed to the interview.

Yes, the old instructions stated you only needed to bring criminal records if you had a criminal record, and you did not need a police certificate then. The instructions changed in Oct. 2013 and they now state a police certificate is needed. Why not just contact City Hall and/or the Ministry of Safety-SSP(Secretaría de la Seguridad Pública) and ask if she can obtain a police certificate(certificado de no antecedentes) there?

Kay dee cee,

I remember reading people referencing travel.gov site etc indicating it show police certificates are not available in mex. I tried the link but says page not available.

Do you have link?

I will have her try the places you mentioned.

I read you can get them through PGR, but it is tuff and takes 30 days.

The site still says unavailable, but people have obtained them. Someone here on VJ posted they got it from City Hall, which is why I mentioned checking there.

Police Records

Unavailable.

She will be going for the Medical on Monday June 9, 2014. MY UNDERSTANDING IS NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED???

Two things:

(1) Though you do not need an appt for the medical, you should try to make an appt for that day. I have read in other posts that the line for walk-ins is much longer than the one for appts. Just a suggestion.

(2) Make sure to take the letter that says that you have an interview date b/c the doctor's office will require it. Without it, they will not do the medical exam (I have read that in other threads as well).

(3) Police certificates from Mexico are not "available" but YES they are. If you have no criminal record, they will simply give you a paper that says Nothing or something to that effect with their stamp and stuff. Not sure if you are in Tijuana, but here is website that I found that explains where to go. It's called a Constancia de Antecedentes Penales.

Here's the website: http://www.bajacalifornia.gob.mx/portal/tramitesyservicios/masconsultados/antecedentespenales.jsp

Good luck! How exciting!! Please let us know how your interview went, how the Juarez area is and how your entire experience with them was. It would be helpful for all of us to learn a bit more about this consulate.

Best of luck.

Do you know when they started allowing people to make an appointment for the medical exam? They used to be walk-in only and the Juarez consulate site still states that > "The clinics see applicants on a walk-in basis between 6 and 11 A.M. Monday to Friday." http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/final-interview-and-medical-exam.html

No sorry, I think I read that somewhere in a thread. BUT if the CJ website says that it's walk-in, then I would go with that. You could always just call the clinic and ask to see if it's true or not.

Again, good luck!!

I made an appointment for the medical. But I just called them. They gave me a code so I can give my fiancée. NO SPECIAL LETTER?
