Maybe Al can chime in with how his experience went. The online system is pretty new so I guess the oldies like me can't help. Ooops. Sorry about that. But from what I heard they're pretty reliable with the email confirmation. This is the first time I read a complaint about not getting the CFO email. Anyway, how about your fiance try calling them up first thing in the morning?, just give him the pertinent info to follow through.

Edit: Knowing CFO, I personally think it will not be a good idea to just skip the first scheduled appointment, especially that your fiance's and your info are already in the system.

Do I register online after I make an appointment? Coz it keeps giving me error messages like the Catcha word doesn't match????

I have to sign up and create a login and it will not let me.

I also made an apt for May 27 for the CFO seminar but didn't get my email confirmation. It does say on the CFO website that I should be able to schedule on line appointment again but their system still keep saying I have an appointment on May 27. It is no longer May 27 there and I wonder when their system will remove this appt.

Sorry for my absence for a few days. My internet went out and trying to get it fixed over the holiday weekend was harder than buying ice in hell. But I am back now.

Yes we had a successful CFO. There are two steps online, the first being the appointment and the second being the registration. The first one is required. For the second one you can fill out the forms in pen when you get there if you want.

The system is a little touchy and you need ;patience with it to get it to work. The first thing it asks is your email, and then it emails you a real link to register from. I found the link works only once. After that you can't even get a new link to your same email. You have to use a new email. Luckily for me I have 2 emails, so I used the second one the second time and got a new link. If you only have one and it won't work, try your fiance's email. As a last resort you can go to something like hotmail or gmail and make a new one just for this.

If you don't have your printed visa yet don't worry. Where they ask if you have a visa already, just say no and it won't bug you any more.

As for the registration, try it. (This is not the appointment we are talking about, just the online form.) If it does not work, don't worry as you can always fill out the one they have there in pen when you get there.

Just make sure to have the required documents, as they are hell on that. As for knowledge, don't worry. If you got through the USEM interview you already know enough to get through CFO.

CFO. Their purpose is to give the alien the skills he/she needs to stay out of trouble in the US. I suppose they are thinking that if he/she has to flee from an abusive house or gets detached from the house for some other reason, he/she will have the contact info memorized to give to police.

Before I forget, be ready to recite your fiances home address and phone number. They are big on that.

Also, they are using a trick question which is "what is your fiancée's mothers maiden name" and "what is his landline phone number" (I know, who uses a landline anymore.)? Hey people.... I don't make this stuff up. They ask that question to insure you have a relationship. Better to know it.

I heard about those in advance and prepped Candy. She was able to recite my mother's maiden name, and after she did the counselor chuckled and said it was a dumb question.

And yes i do have a landline. The triple play package from my ISP is actually cheaper than internet and TV a la carte, and I had her memorize that number.

Hi Guys,

I have been back from PI and I attended my Fiance's interview with the US Embassy. I had to come back without him though bcoz of my work. I guess he can just follow once he gets his visa.

Anyway, the day before the interview date, I was gathering all our docs and found out that my fiancé didn't have his NSO Birth and CENOMAR - OMG !!!!! UGH !!!!! ...... Anyway, we (of course) went to the interview knowing we are missing docs and the interview went well, I suppose. We had to call NSO and request to send the Reverification to the US Embassy and found out that US Embassy picks it up from NSO on Fridays ONLY.

Anyway, it should have been picked up last Friday and all docs should be complete now. We are just waiting for a text/call from the 2GO Courier if the visa is ready for pick up.
