Does a Medical Exam expire?

I'm in my 5th month of waiting and I'm hoping that I get some sort of response soon regarding my K1- I129F Visa. I was wondering, how far ahead of time can I take the Medical? I don't want to leave it till last minute in case anything goes wrong, but at the same time I'm not sure if the medical expires so I don't want to take it too far ahead of time!

Also, can any doctor do this exam or am I going to have to travel for that too? Are there specifics I have to take with me when I go see the doctor? If anyone can give me a rundown or direct me to a page or website that has all the listed requirements and doctors that would be awesome!

Thanks!

Most panel physicians won't see you in Canada until you have your packet 3. The consulate will only accept them if it is less than 6 months (I believe) old.

There are only a few physicians you can go to, where in Canada do you live?

If you don't wish to 'waste time' why not get your vaccinations ready? Inquire about your police certificate (which the consulate will accept for a year)

Good luck

I am also interested to know about the medical expiry. So it is 6 months? I am in France so i don't know if it is different.

I have mailed my response to packet 3 today so i don't have my interview date yet.

Is it ok to have my medical done in the month of june? (thiking from what i see in french people's timeline that my interview may be sometimes in july)

Your medical is valid for 6 months which is also the validity of your visa. If you jump the gun on the medical you may need to go through it all over again or be issued a visa with a very short shelf life. You would be wise to wait.

You need a Canadian Police certificate from your local RCMP.

The doctors are in Vancouver, Montreal or Toronto.

Here is the list of vaccinations required http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/Immunizations.htm

You need your vaccination history before you go for your medical

good luck

My dad works for the RCMP so it shouldn't be difficult to aqcuire that, though it doesn't specify what the certificate is for? Is this a criminal records check? prints? I'm sure if i ask my dad he'll ask me what sort of certificate i need lol. Sorry for being difficult i just get so sick from sitting around doing nothing while i await an answer from the uscis

Thanks again!

the website for the us embassy in france will have the info on how long the medical is valid, but if you are on packet three, I would start rolling with it.

you will have to contact that doctor first, some can do an eval with just the nvc registration number, others will need the interview appointment letter

Yes, a criminal records check. If you have a record, you'll need the one with fingerprints. If not, you won't. Also, if you 've lived in any other country for more than 6 months since age 16, you'll need a police certificate from there as well. If that's the case, you should get going on that, because that can take some time to get.
