will it be ok to follow-up with them everyday? i want to do that, but i don't want them to get irritated to me and it might affect our application.. so 2 weeks is the minimum turn around time for my case to be forwarded from NVC to my consulate? i appreciate all your advise guys. thank you!

Not necessarily. I got our NOA2 by text on July 11th. By the 17th, they had received our case at NVC and assigned it a case number. By the 19th, it had been sent to our consulate, and it arrived today. So that's 2 weeks from NOA2 to consulate receipt... which means it is completely possible. And I wouldn't (and didn't) feel bad about calling every day for a status update. I just kind of played dumb like I hadn't called before and asked if they'd received our petition, and if so, what were the next steps. Hope this helps--good luck!

Give them 7 - 10 days before calling. Call after 4:45 PM eastern time for shorter wait times K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get there:

When you pay at the bank you get a receipt.

You use that receipt number to register for the interview online. (receipt number usually is just your passport number)

When you register for the interview online you print off the confirmation page after you schedule the interview.

No, even though its said they will send one out. My wife never got one.

After NOA2 the petition packet will go to NVC there it will be reviewed one more time, get assigned its MNL #, then forwarded to USEM.

Once you have your MNL # you can start the whole process in Manila.

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent.

Art. 14. In case either or both of the contracting parties, not having been emancipated by a previous marriage, are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one, they shall, in addition to the requirements of the preceding articles, exhibit to the local civil registrar, the consent to their marriage of their father, mother, surviving parent or guardian, or persons having legal charge of them, in the order mentioned. Such consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the proper local civil registrar, or in the form of an affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and attested before any official authorized by law to administer oaths. The personal manifestation shall be recorded in both applications for marriage license, and the affidavit, if one is executed instead, shall be attached to said applications. (61a)

Art. 15. Any contracting party between the age of twenty-one and twenty-five shall be obliged to ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued till after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor.A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought,together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for marriage license. Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement.

. . .Hello All. . .It is Wednesday here in the Philippines & just got an eMail saying our NOA2 is APPROVED! ( Sent on the 27th from the California Service Center ). . .Since I am not at home, but rather in the PI, I have a question maybe those experienced can help me with. . . USCIS says in Approval letter to "Please follow any instructions in the notice." My question is this: Is that a STANDARD FORM LETTER sent to all Approved NOA2 recepients or are there differing instructions possible???? Remember, I am in the PI & am not home to receive the letter! ( By the way does anyone have a copy of the approval letter to share??? ) Next should I eMail and/or phone the NVC to get a MNL#; how long should I wait before doing so??? I am thinking of eMailing the NVC today ( with case number, name, etc. in the subject line ). . .We have all the other paperwork necessary for the USEM interview - ( not including paying fee & medical which I have read require the MNL# ) . . .Any other useful info from those experienced is appreciated. . .Thanks!!!!

Standard letter, never received anything from Manila embassy the letter from NVC will just give you the MNL case number. Just call NVC in a week or so and get the MNL case number and then follow the steps for payment and register online at the embassy and pre-register at SLMC.

Its another 797 form. You don't need it for processing the visa application as you should have the info you need in the email you received to contact NVC to get the MNL # in a week or so.
