AOS 2 checks Rejected ??

I had the same problem as you, pretty much.

I sent 2 checks one for I-485 and one for EAD. They sent me that EAD check with a rejection notice, together with the NOA1 for both of them. That rejection letter is very confusing. It says that there is no further action to take, then at the last paragraph it says to send again all the package...??? Makes no sense. You know what I did? Called them, and they sounded so confusing! They didnt know what was wrong...I wanted to make sure if I had to send everything all over again, but I ended up not doing anything, and then I got the letter for biometrics....So, I was asupposed to "take no further action".....

They should redo that rejection letter, it is supposed to clear english...so confusing and frustrating..

so have a check written out for $85.00 Biometric fee and copies of everything else in the notice.Plan to overnight everything back today.along with the case #

because the case number was not written on any of the paperwork they sent me.

Did you have any resolution yet? I was in a similar situation. I thought the biometric fee was supposed to be paid at the time of the biometric appointment. I'm an idiot and obviously read the payment section incorrectly. In any case, I paid the $985, but received a fingerprint deficiency fee notice asking for payment. I mailed a copy of the notice and the $85 check back. A week or so later, I received notice that the $85 fee was received and the balance owed was 0. A week or two after, my wife went in for her biometric appointment. The I485 is still in the Acceptance phase??? I also haven't heard anything about the I131 or I765. I guess we will call, but I'm hoping that the system online just hasn't been updated. Does anybody have any update?

The people you talk to on the phone are hired customer service reps, no different from the ones you talk to when you call for help with a new computer or appliance. The only difference is that they're not in India. They read from a script on a computer screen. The majority of them know squat about immigration law or USCIS policies. You can try to get an immigration officer on the phone, but even then you might not get the best information. Your situation is not typical.

Make an InfoPass appointment at the local USCIS office. Insist on speaking with an immigration officer, face-to-face. Explain the situation and see if you can pay the biometrics fee on the spot. Be CERTAIN you get a receipt. Hopefully, that will be enough to keep the momentum going on your case, and trigger them to schedule a biometrics appointment before an IO gets your I-485.

Hi there, just want to ask we got a rejection notice too but not with check, did you include your rejection notice back along with the paperworks? coz i forgot mine, i'm just really worried right now.. thank you
